Menarini’s Lithuanian chapter began in 1993, shortly after Alberto Sergio Aleotti’s acquisition of Berlin-Chemie. It was a bold, forward-thinking move designed to expand the Group’s footprint across Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Since then, the company has grown into a pillar of Lithuania’s healthcare landscape, carrying forward the commitment to quality, professionalism and care that has defined Menarini since its founding in Florence in 1886.

Berlin-Chemie itself dates back to 1890, when it was established in Berlin’s Adlershof district. Its heritage runs so deep that some employees today represent the fifth generation of their families to work in pharmaceuticals. In 1992, Berlin-Chemie joined the Menarini Group and took on responsibility for the pharmaceutical business in Germany and more than 30 countries throughout Central and Eastern Europe.
