World Health Day 2026: Together for health. More health, more happiness, more life.

World Health Day is an annual global event observed on April 7th to highlight critical health issues. The World Health Organization (WHO) established this day in 1950, choosing the date to mark the anniversary of its own founding in 1948. This commemorative date signifies the global commitment to health as a universal right.

This year’s theme, Together for health. Stand with science, is both a celebration and an invitation. It launches a year-long campaign that recognises the power of scientific collaboration to protect the health of people, animals, plants, and the planet.

The 2026 campaign calls on governments, scientists, health workers, and the public to engage with evidence-based guidance, rebuild trust in science and public health institutions, and support science-led solutions for a healthier future. Everyone is invited to join the global conversation through #StandWithScience.

World Health Day 2026 also coincides with two major international events: the International One Health Summit (7 April), which will bring together leaders and experts to advance coordinated action across human, animal, and environmental health; and, alongside it, the First Global Forum of WHO Collaborating Centres (7–9 April, Lyon), which will gather nearly 800 scientific institutions from over 80 countries.

Together, these events form the largest scientific network ever convened around a United Nations agency, demonstrating how multilateral cooperation can turn evidence into action.

On the occasion of World Health Day, Menarini reaffirms its commitment to improving the health and well-being of patients and communities worldwide: More health, more happiness, more life.
For over a century, the Group has worked to develop innovative therapeutic solutions and health education initiatives that make quality care more accessible. The values that World Health Day embodies – science, equity, and collaboration – are values that Menarini shares and acts upon every day, with the conviction that health must be a universal right, not a privilege.
